Tea Brewing

Black Tea can be brewed using either tea bags or loose tea in a teapot. Most importantly the tea must be stored in an air tight container so as to retain the freshness, flavor and taste. The secret of a good cup of Ceylon tea amounts to three important things, namely the quality of the tea, the type of tea and how the tea is brewed.

Brewing using loose tea:

  • Bring fresh cold water to a boil.
  • Prepare the tea pot by putting hot water in the pot and swirling it around
  • Empty the teapot and put the tea leaves in to it. (The rule is one teaspoon for the pot and one for each person). However one can experiment and arrive at own preferences
  • Pour the hot water over the leaves
  • Allow the tea to infuse for 3 to 5 minutes
  • Stir the leaves so as to aid in infusion
  • Add milk, sugar or honey as preferred and serve
  • Enjoy!

Brewing using teabags:

  • Place a teabag in the cup (one bag per person)
  • Pour boiling water over it
  • Let it infuse for 3 – 5 minutes (or as preferred)
  • Remove the teabag
  • Add Milk, Sugar or honey as preferred and serve
  • Enjoy!
